Art Projects with Young People
I enjoy creating collaborative art projects with people of all ages and abilities. The following projects were made in various places (Mexico, NYC, Amsterdam, Arnhem, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, etc) using a variety of materials such as chalk shoes, which I invented to help people make temporary drawings through their cities. I have also explored working with sugar, creating objects cast from recycled packaging with design students. I used thread to weave spider webs with locals into their landscapes and share stories about environmental degradation. We used dirt with NYC students and dwellers to explore urban farming and soil remediation; and the face with art students with physical limitations so we could share stories related to our senses. These are just some of the inspiring projects I have been lucky to create with various communities around the globe. My own young children provide me with ongoing inspiration.
